Welcome to true colors Thursday once again! If you want to play along, let Blue know!
Today's color is puce, a color varying from deep red to dark purplish-brown!
This is mom's puce dishtowel! Not funny, mom! There are 3 jars of dilly beans and 1 jar of homemade tomato paste, which looks puce to us! Our friends, Pete and Laurie, make dilly beans every year from the beans they grown in their garden and we are lucky recipients!
The back cover of this book is puce! The book is called "Small Talk" It's full of pictures and patterns of miniature quilts! This is mom's Nantucket bag that goes just about everywhere that she goes! It holds her knitting projects! The brick sidewalks on the tote are a puce color and so is my collar! We promised dad we'd post of picture of his puce Indian motorcycle! He doesn't really call this color puce but it's close enough for us!Next week's color is pewter!
So until next time..............
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

Puce was tough, but you all did great!
ReplyDeletelove the picture of the wonderful bike!
ReplyDeleteMy Jeannie wants to know whether your Mama saw the film about the Indian bike, starring Anthony Hopkins, my Dad said it was a very good film indeed. Of course my J cannot remember what it was called now, she thinks it may have been "The World's Fastest Indian".
My two crazy peeps, lurve bikes!
mucho love, Marvin xxxxxx
Puce is really a nice color but the word just does not connote nice at all. Love that motorcycle and the collar, so sweet with those hearts on it.
ReplyDeleteWoos, Phantom and Thunder
That is a hard color but you found some nice things to shoot. Good job!
ReplyDeleteYour friends,
Niamh & Ambrose
Wow! You did really well with Puce!
ReplyDeleteMy mom didn't know what puce was until now. And she has that VERY same quilt book, so now she'll have a marker. So to speak.
ReplyDeleteWoo.
Luv,
Dave
Yuck, couldn't they have come up with a nicer name for that color? "Puce" makes me think of the color of the similar-sounding word that describes what we so when our stomachs reverse gears.... Ug. How about maroon-ish cranberry instead??
ReplyDeleteSnorts-
Brutus the Frenchie
Those veggies look yummy! I love you dad's motorcycle! You do look a bit annoyed to have had a dish towel thrown over you! I don't blame you!

ReplyDeleteNice choice of Puce colored stuff. My Auntie Ro would love the quilts. But I can totally understand why your dad would not be enthused about his motorcyle being called puce!

Happy Puce Day to you!
ReplyDeleteWe find that a very interesting word. Now we learned something new.

So this is Puce! =D And I'm amazed how you guys could dig all that rare colors!
ReplyDeleteYou made us wait quite a while for the puce! The puce, I can say that all day, the puce, the color puce...puce. I wonder what you'll come up with for pewter... ;)
ReplyDeleteTwink!
I like the blanket...don't you like blankies Maggie?
ReplyDeleteNala
So that's what puce is! And what a neat-o motorcycle --- Dennis would love a ride on it, he's got a Honda Magna 550 and it doesn't run. Is that a new one?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Rudy
Puce! Are you sure that's not a made-up Sherwin-Williams color?
ReplyDeleteGee, puce is not an easy color and you guys did great! Ummm.. Maggie, puce looks pretty nice on you... :)
ReplyDeleteOH no that motor cycle picture must stay hiden from our daddy. You remember he had an accident on one last June and his clavicle still isn't connected right...anyway, Mom wants him to sell the thing and he wants to keep it.SO far it's still in the garage but he hasn't riden it as it hurts when he does.Who do you suppose will win this one?? That aside---Your daddy's Indian is very pretty to look at!!
ReplyDeleteXX-BRD & Hootie
we hope there is a side car that belongs to that motorcycle with room for two!
ReplyDeletePuce is such an unusual color. We like the Indian motorcycle.
