Today's color is blue and white together!
The pretty dolly works for this week's blue and white together color scheme!
This red ware plate is both blue and white together! This little blue and white house is inside the beehive oven that's in our kitchen. Our house was built in 1824. This is one of mom's very favorite CD's! She just loves the movie "Sound of Music"!This flower vase is blue and white!
These Delft houses were given to our gram each time she flew on KLM Aire-lines! They used to have brandy inside of them but not any more!
This painting was painted by our great grandmother! She was a very talented lady - not only with paints but also with needlework. Mom tells us that she used to make her own yogurt from scratch! We've never had that!
Next week's color is puce!
According to the American Heritage Dictionary, deep red to dark grayish purple.

Brillant post!
ReplyDeleteThe doll is lovely.
Am impressed with the age of your house, it's older than mine - LOL!
And as I was planning to show of my own Delftware it was nice to see yours.
Off to listen to the Sound of Music now!
Love, pats & pets
Blue
I particularly like the Delft houses. VERY blue and white!
ReplyDeleteYou two have some gorgeous items around your house. Mom says she is intrigued by your oven.
ReplyDeleteWe were glad to see what puce looks like - we had no idea - we think we might have called it mauve. From the looks of things, Mom and Dad had puce and dark puce for their wedding colours.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of great blues and whites. We've got to get on it today. All Mom has to do is go in the kitchen and start taking photos - she has collected blue and white dishes for ages.
XOXO

Your house was built in 1824?!? That's amazing!! No wonder you have so many nifty things in it!! Thankfully our sky here today is (thankfully!) bright blue, and with the white snow, a photo our our back door would have been perfect for you post!!

Hubby got one of those Delft cottages when he flew KLM in 2007 en route to Africa when he and our son climbed (and summited!) Kilimanjaro. I thought that was a nice touch. I wonder if they still give them out.
ReplyDeleteLove your beehive oven and your great grandmother's artwork. She sounds like she was amazing. You should consider doing a post about her...xoxo
Love your colors! That puce is going to be a tough one.

Thank you for giving us the true meaning of blue and white. Now, about next week, I think you'll be a bit more challenged. Puce, huh?
ReplyDeleteTwink!
We have one of those little KLM brandy houses. Ours is empty, too.
ReplyDeleteA very beautiful blue and white post. We loved the delft houses. When we lived in Belgium we travelled to Delft in Holland several times and collected some lovely delft plates and Chistmas decorations that we cherish.

Love your blue and white collection! LS was looking at your little houses and say they look very familiar. Then she realised that she has quite a large collection of them too! Yes, from KLM air lines! They had brandy inside? LS said it doesn't taste like brandy.
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie and Mitch
ReplyDeleteBlue and white is some of my favorite colors- well other colors too- but today it is blue and white.
You have some beautuful things to show us- and many shades of blue.
That makes it sooo interesting.
Your house must have 1824 different stories to tell- i bet!

Have a good weekend, friends!!
Momo & Pinot
My Grampa used to work for KLM so you better believe they have those houses, a few of them. LOL. That is part of the reason Dad loves Amsterdam, he got to go a lot.
ReplyDeleteGreat blue & whites you two.
ReplyDeleteWe love the painting. :-)
Hi, Maggie and Mitch -
ReplyDeleteMama also likes The Sound of Music - she saw the movie many times.
Your house is a lot older than our house. Ours was built in 1906. Mama, Kaci and I love the blue and white vase.
